Tomatin Decades II 700ml

Tomatin Decades II is a remarkable Highland single malt Scotch whisky created as a marriage of 21 casks representing five decades of Tomatin whisky-making. It was developed as a tribute to the generations of people who have helped shape the distillery.

The carefully selected casks include refill bourbon hogsheads from the 1970s, first-fill Oloroso sherry butts from the 1980s, first-fill bourbon barrels from the 1990s, re-charred Verdejo wine casks from the 2000s and second-fill French oak from the 2010s. This unusual combination creates a whisky with exceptional depth and complexity.

The nose opens with citrus fruit, sweet pastry, wood shavings, cooked fruit and floral coconut. On the palate, Christmas cake, maple syrup, fresh red berries and tropical fruits develop alongside orange peel and ginger. The finish is long, waxy and tropical, with lingering chocolate and warming spice.

With only 3,600 bottles produced, Tomatin Decades II is a distinctive limited release that will appeal to collectors and enthusiasts looking for a complex and characterful expression of Tomatin's whisky-making heritage.
