Cragganmore 14 Year Old 2003–2018 – SMWS 37.107 is a distinctive Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Cragganmore, independently bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) under the evocative title “Running Through a Field of Wheat.”
Distilled on 5 November 2003 and bottled in 2018, this 14-year-old expression was matured in a refill ex-bourbon hogshead. The release was limited to just 245 bottles, making it a particularly interesting single-cask SMWS bottling.
The whisky has a creamy, sweet and fruit-forward character, with notes of ripe pear, apricot, malt and soft vanilla, alongside a subtle earthy and waxy quality. The palate is rich and textured, bringing together creamy fruit, sweet malt and gentle oak, with enough intensity to give the whisky a satisfying depth.
The finish is long and warming, leaving lingering impressions of creamy fruit, malt sweetness and gentle oak.
Cragganmore 14 Year Old SMWS 37.107 is an appealing single-cask release for collectors and enthusiasts, showcasing a fruitier and more expressive side of Cragganmore through the distinctive independent bottling style of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
