Ardnamurchan AD/ Sherry Cask 2024 Release

The second release of Ardnamurchan’s popular Sherry Cask Release, this limited-edition Highland single malt combines peated and unpeated spirit with rich Sherry cask maturation.

The 2024 release was made using whisky distilled in 2018 and 2019, matured in a combination of 90% Oloroso Sherry butts and 10% Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry butts. The result is a rich, full-bodied whisky balancing coastal peat smoke with sweet dried fruit and savoury character.

The nose offers coastal bonfire smoke, tarry rope, salted peanut ice cream, Brazil nuts and sundried tomatoes, while the palate brings red plum, cherry, smoky bacon, peanut brittle and sticky spare ribs. The finish is long and maritime, with sea salt, fireplace smoke and subtle cigar-shop notes.

With 21,000 bottles produced worldwide, this 2024 release is an excellent choice for collectors and whisky enthusiasts looking for a distinctive Sherry-matured Ardnamurchan.
