Glen Grant 19 Year Old 2003 – SMWS 9.275 “Intricacy” is an expressive Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) as part of its distinctive 40th anniversary collection.

Distilled in September 2003 and matured for 19 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel, this single-cask release was limited to just 192 bottles. The whisky showcases the elegant fruitiness of Glen Grant alongside a beautifully complex combination of floral, waxy and malty character.

The nose opens with green and yellow fruits, floral aromas, honey cake and lime curd, followed by hints of new leather and malted grain. On the palate, layers of orchard fruit, dried coconut, salted caramel, pumpkin-seed oil and waxy notes develop alongside a subtle smoky character.

With a little water, the whisky reveals additional notes of sweet cereals, brown bread, butter, green herbs and caramelised pineapple, with gentle tobacco and wax lingering on the finish.
