Benriach 22Yr Albariza 700ml

Benriach 22 Year Old Albariza is a beautifully mature Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Benriach’s limited Albariza Wood Finish series.

Originally matured in American oak casks, this peated Benriach was finished in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks, bringing together gentle peat smoke with rich, sweet sherry character. The name Albariza refers to the distinctive white soil associated with the sherry-growing region of Andalucía in southern Spain. The whisky was released as a limited bottling and is non-chill filtered with natural colour.

The nose combines honeyed peat smoke, garden mint, sweet dates and chocolate fondant. On the palate, dark chocolate, Victoria plums and rum-soaked raisins mingle with warming spice and earthy campfire smoke. The finish is long and expressive, with menthol, honey, dark chocolate and lingering peat.

A sophisticated 22-year-old peated Benriach, Albariza is an excellent example of the distillery’s ability to combine mature Speyside spirit with the rich influence of PX sherry finishing.
