Balvenie Tun 1509-Batch3 700ml

The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 3 is an exceptional Speyside single malt Scotch whisky and one of the most distinctive releases from The Balvenie’s renowned Tun series.

For Batch 3, Malt Master David Stewart hand-selected 31 casks, bringing together 12 sherry butts, 11 American oak hogsheads and 8 refill American oak butts containing whisky distilled between 1989 and 1993. The selected whiskies were married together for several months in the large Tun 1509 vessel at Warehouse 24, allowing the individual cask characters to harmonise. Only 8,850 bottles were produced worldwide.

The nose offers mature sweet oak, honey, orange and gentle spice. On the palate, expect rich mandarin orange, raisins, vanilla, honey and sweet barley sugar, developing into notes of cinnamon, ginger and sherry-rich dried fruit. The finish is long, warm and lingering, with mature oak spice and lingering fruit.
