Ardnamurchan AD/ The Midgie 2025 Release

A vibrant and distinctive limited-edition single malt from Ardnamurchan Distillery, created as a playful tribute to Scotland’s infamous Highland midge.

The 2025 release brings together 75% unpeated and 25% peated spirit, distilled between 2017 and 2019. It is matured in a combination of 50% ex-American Bourbon barrels, 48% Port Barriques and 2% Sherry casks, creating a lively balance of fruit, sweetness, gentle smoke and Ardnamurchan’s characteristic coastal character.

The nose offers torched pineapple, salted prunes, strawberry jam, almond oil, coconut macaroon and spearmint. On the palate, expect salt-baked pear, wildflowers, lemon thyme, sultanas, cherrywood embers, cocoa powder and pink peppercorns. The finish is dry and lengthy, with gentle smoke, Himalayan pink salt and redcurrant cordial.

With approximately 16,500 bottles produced worldwide, The Midgie 2025 is an appealing limited release for collectors and fans of Ardnamurchan’s creative cask combinations.
