Ardnamurchan AD/ Sauternes Cask Release – Peated

A rich and distinctive limited-edition single malt from Ardnamurchan Distillery, combining 100% peated Ardnamurchan spirit with the sweet and fruity influence of Sauternes wine casks.

The whisky was matured for 3 years in ex-Bourbon casks before being carefully re-racked into Sauternes barriques for a further 3.5 years. This extended wine-cask maturation creates a fascinating balance between coastal peat smoke and luscious dessert-wine character.

The nose brings lime leaf, lemon balm, shortbread, hay, pineapple upside-down cake, coconut and crème de pêche, with hints of stem ginger and tobacco. On the palate, expect nutmeg, dried ginger, orange blossom, smoked honey, lemon meringue, salted cashews and earthy smoke.

The finish is spicy, punchy and bright, leaving a luscious combination of peat, sweetness and coastal character.

Only 8,460 bottles were produced, making this a highly appealing limited release for Ardnamurchan collectors and fans of peated whisky with wine-cask influence. The whisky is naturally coloured and non-chill filtered.
