Ardnamurchan AD/ Madeira Cask 2025 Release

A limited-edition Highland single malt from Ardnamurchan Distillery, combining the distillery’s distinctive coastal character with the rich fruit and spice influence of Madeira casks.

The whisky was initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks filled in early 2018, using a combination of peated and unpeated Ardnamurchan spirit. It was then re-racked into Madeira casks for more than two years, before being vatted just before reaching seven years of age.

The result is a rich and characterful dram with notes of cocoa powder, stewed plums, sugared almonds, fruit scone and red currants, followed by cinnamon sweets, toffee apple, salted chocolate, rosemary, strawberries and black pepper. The finish is medium-bodied, long and gently drying.

This is only the second Madeira Cask release from Ardnamurchan, making it an appealing addition for collectors and fans of limited Ardnamurchan releases. It is naturally coloured and non-chill filtered.
